That I can agree with. I just don't agree on mandatory registration of every possible device that can be used as a weapon.

not asking for registration of every item that can be used as a weapon...that would include pens and lollypops. i wanna disable pre-paid cell phones that have been demonstrated to be the detonator of choice in Iraq for the past X years...tried and true.

a pen can't be used from california to detonate a dirty bomb in NY...a pre-paid cell phone can.

Here is an easy solution:

The cell phone manufacturers know who their distributors are. They should put out an immediate bulletin telling all sales outlets that Middle Easterners are trying to purchase these for use as potential weapon detonators. All customers must be identified and documented and any Middle Easterners who make such purchases are to be reported immediately to the FBI or Homeland Security.
