Then that service company needs to get its service techs out into regional areas with service territories that are sized so the techs can drive to the customer's locations.

Any parts can be shipped overnight and information can be transmitted electronically. On the occasion that the techs need to go back to the home office for training, etc, then fly. A lot of the airline miles could be cut out if people put their minds to it.

And, that the personnel cost for doing this would be prohibitive because the people who service Florida cannot service California, etc. even though the job is EXACTLY the same.
