Cabinet suspends Lebanon offensive to give UN time to end the crisis (Haaretz)
US State Department skunk oil is all over this further embarassment.
Do you have a link for this?
i give up. call me when israel or the us grows a set.
Yeah i don't understand this.
How on earth can the un hope to end "The Crisis" they've been in the middle of it since the '70's? I think the un is The Crisis.
Right now it's just a flash on the ticker with no story behind it, unless I am missing something.
The article says that any delay is only for a day or two to give the UN another chance to forge a deal. But that's not going to happen, and it isn't good for Israel or the United States even if it does. So Israel, get on with it already!
That is how all their stories start out. Then they will post a full story when it comes in. They are the source for almost all the stories everyone is posting. And info for that matter.
Where is the article? I don't see the article yet.
Ok, on standby.
If this is true, AND if this is the result of US pressure, civilization has just taken the road that leads to it's destruction.
What Israel really needs right now is an election. Instead they are going to continue their public education about what happens when you elect Clintonistas. The shame is most of the US public isn't learning second hand.
kesg where did you read that at?
I think it's a Psy-Op...It's cover for Israel to move its forces to the border...I simply don't see diplomacy saving Hezbollah at this time. Israel lost more troops today than any day since war started, if Olmert tries to stop this now I think his government will fall.Which may not be bad if Bibi becomes prime minister.
It's Olmert.
The "offensive" was never set to go for sure.
Did the cabinet have another meeting today to take such a decision?
