I have also stated many times that my weapon of choice for home defense is my sword!

Same here! Seems to be more common than I thought. I have a 100-year-old Japanese sword near my bed, hidden within reach in case of uninvited visitors. And I'm quite adept at moving around quietly within my home in the dark.

Talk about your blood-spatter...

Reminds me of that classis 1950's Toshiro Mifune samurai movie where he infiltrates an opposing warlords little army. He decides to make his exit and leave behind a little momento to remember him by. While a couple of dozen enemy samurai sleep in their barn-like dormitory, he sneaks in, locks the door, and starts the most frantic whack-fest ever filmed. The enemy samurai all wake up and try to whack him out, but he pulls the most fantastic moves ever filmed, and kills them all. Toshiro Mifune was an long time actor that most Americans would recognize, but no one who hasn't seen those 1950's samurai classics would ever guess he was an absolute master swordsman too.

I'm sorta surprised the griminal tht aws brandishing the gun, still has both his hamds instead of some severed fingers that may even be able to be re-attached.

I'da whacked his whole hand off.

Care to try that again or will it just get worse?

You are most welcome FRiend. People like us have learned the ancient arts and fully understand how powerful they are.

From the looks of the perps' names, the victim was getting in touch with their muslum traditions.

Actually, I once worked with the database of a state family literacy organization centered on Minneapolis. I was really surprised at the number of arab sounding names. For instance a search for "Abdul" on a base of 30,000 family names would bring up over 300 matches.

From my guess they were probably all followers of the "honorable" Ellijah Mohammed.

I am an unrepentantly bad typist when not being
paid for it, and FR offers no ability to edit
for errors....Did you miss my meaning, or are
you confused in its' message, due to my
admittedly atrocious spelling, that you require
a rewrite to comprehend?

:)

Poor purchase and very over priced!

There are some outstanding manufactures of swords in America, but you need to look around.

Please contact your local Renaissance Fair members for advise on quality weapons.

Your heart is in the right place, but that specific sword is horribly over priced for it's quality.

Getting better and that would not be a bad sword.

I would still recommend that you visit your next Renaissance Festival and connect with people who know their swords.

It will take you some time until you can judge quality steal, but when you learn that skill, it will never be forgotten.

Any idiot can purchase and fire a 9mm handgun.

A sword takes years of training. But once mastered, you will never want to go back.

You're the third person that's recommended the Renaissance Festival. I guess I'll have to make the trek! I've been toying with getting a sword for awhile now but haven't moved past the browsing stage.

Thanks again,

dung.

My sword is kept three feet away from my computer, and if I am surprised by a home invader, that is what I would grab first.

My daughter has a bumper sticker on her car:

Buy a sword. No waiting period.

Yep just the thing for self defense - something that takes years of training to master.

Theme music has been selected.....

"Everybody was kung-fu fighting
Those cats were fast as lightning
In fact it was a little bit frightning
But they did it with expert timing........"
