Police are investigating reports of severed fingers, after a stabbing in the Uptown area overnight.
Police arrived at 31st and Lyndale Aves. S. in Minneapolis around 3 a.m., finding two victims that appeared to have been stabbed with a two-and-a-half foot Samurai-style sword. The two victims were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.
Later, two more suspects then showed up at HCMC with stab wounds, and police took those people into custody. The suspects taken into custody were identified as Hossem Chalbi, 18, and Mohammed Khalil, 29.
"I saw the first guy rolling down the stairs at me completely on fire with blood," witness Matthew Tellfair told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. "I did see an EMT coming past with a bag of fingers in their hand saying 'we're going to try and match these up.'"
"And there was one guy with a bloody sword...No joke," added witness Martin Knotsmith. "It was over two feet long and of the Samurai-style, slightly curved, very sharp."
According to police reports, two armed men stormed the apartment with a gun, and a scuffle ensued. One of the victims had a Samurai sword in the apartment and the sword somehow became part of the conflict.
All people involved have non-life threatening injuries.
From the looks of the perps' names, the victim was getting in touch with their muslum traditions.
So now we have the sons of the desert doing home-invasion robberies?
I'm confused... Were the people with sword wounds victims of the attempted robbery or were they criminals who got what they deserved, in which case they weren't victims.
I guess fingerprints won't help too much in this case...
Obviously, the prospective mark's martial arts style was far superior to the robbers'.
I'm sorta surprised the griminal tht aws
brandishing the gun, still has both his
hamds instead of some severed fingers
that may even be able to be re-attached.
I'da whacked his whole hand off.
AS usual this graduate of journalism is a poor writer. My take is the first two found at the apartment were the victims who somehow got stabbed. The two that later showed up at the hospital were the perps.
Ok. The bad guys come in with a gun. One of the bad guys spots the sword hanging on the wall and grabs it. The victim struggles with the bad guy, gets hit and cut. Victim gains control of the sword and the ass-whippin' is on!!
I've seen some of the local news film footage from inside the building.
Talk about your blood-spatter...
I should have posted this from this source...http://wcco.com/topstories/local_story_221090720.html
Actually, there were 4 bad guys.
Translation: something happened here, but we don't know what it was, do we, Mr. Jones?
I got the feeling that the author was just throwing around the label of victim. Reminds me of the part in John Ringo's "Ghost" novel where the law enforcement officers are at the scene where the hero has left behind a bunch of dead terrorists, and one live one which he interrogated by shooting in the leg. One agent asks after the condition of the "victim" and instead of responding with the condition of the hostage/kidnap victim that the hero had rescued, the respondent gave the condition of the terrorist who was shot in the leg. The first agent was not amused.
Why would I not be surprised to learn that drugs/alcohol/gangstas are somehow involved in this mess?
(But no report of them in the article, strangely enough)
His swordsmanship is abominable. Why, he was supposed to cut resolutely, like a slicer at a supermarket deli, and he only cut fingers!
I don't think so, in this case. Let's just say that the bad guys and the victims look nothing alike.
