One of 11 missing Egyptian students has been picked up in Minneapolis, Minn., NBC News’ Pete Williams reported and the FBI confirmed Wednesday.

Local police in New Jersey also believe they have apprehended two more of the Egyptian students. Federal agents, however, have not yet confirmed the identities of these students.

Eslam Ibrahim Mohamed El-Dessouki, 21, was arrested "without incident" by FBI and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, FBI Special Agent Richard Kolko said.

El-Dessouki is being held on an administrative immigration violation because he did not turn up for his monthlong exchange program at Montana State University, Kolko said.

Is it a 'hope' that by admitting these usually very anti-western ,death to America types to our institutions of higher learning , that we shall somehow 'turn' them ? To cause them to become friendly to western ways and ideas? That by allowing them here with such visas they will not be tempted to espionage ,subversion , or worse? Maybe they'll even find some American gals that they can impregnate and bring both wife and children back to their lovely native countries ?
I just don't get it I guess . Seems to me that until the WoT is sorted out there should be a 100% moratorium on all such emigres for any purposes what-so-ever. Did we allow in Nazi's or Communists at the height of those confrontations?
No...are we not wiser now? I wonder....

Sure it will, their Haji transcripts will have a Red Star for a nearly successful infiltration attempt on infidels.

This is part of their Jihadi fundamentals 100. Most of the text books are available on anarchy websites, Jihadis R Us, etc.

Check out this site:

http://www.mepi.state.gov/

These 11 Egyptian students were probably participating in one of the State Department's one-month programs to bring Middle Eastern students to a USA University for a month-long seminar.

Such seminars have been held at MSU in the past.

The site is interesting to read. Check out its "Four Pillars."

What is the big deal?

These guys were registered and did not show up as planned. However, 11 of their countrymen could come in through our open borders and no one would know they were here. Also, it would be PC incorrect to start profiling and round up suspects.

Woah! Listening to some demands by DMV really curled my hair. A woman was told she needed her first marriage certificate and her divorce papers.

Another older couple was missing some documentation and they were beyond upset. The girl was not nice to them at all.

A gal ahead of me had just passed her driving test.....she barely spoke english, and she had no problem at all getting her license. Very interesting indeed.

On the other hand, I saw three Mennonite women in full dress in a thrift store today. That's what I'm worried about.

And when Mennonite women start screaming "Death to America" and blowing up buildings and plotting devastating attacks on our cities, I'll start to worry too. Thanks for the warning.

Pittsburgh is closer to New York City than Minneapolis is to Chicago.

I think it's more likely that the guy they caught in Minneapolis was trying to get to his destination and told authorities where to find the others. (Amtrak goes to Montana through Minneapolis.)

Here's some info, from the State Department that may explain the link. Source URL is at bottom:

Middle Eastern and North African Students Begin Middle East Partnership Initiative Study of the U.S. Institutes at Benedictine University, University of Delaware, and Montana State University

The U.S. Department of State is pleased to welcome to the United States students from the Middle East and North Africa to participate in the "Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Study of the U.S. Institute for Middle Eastern and North African Student Leaders" at three universities across the country for the next two months. The students were nominated through U.S. Embassies abroad in partnership with local institutions.

MEPI and the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsor the institutes, which are designed to increase participants' awareness of civic rights and responsibilities, and to provide them with the skills to become effective business, civil society and community leaders of tomorrow. A key goal of the institutes is to increase mutual understanding between the people of the Middle East and North Africa and the people of the United States.

Under this program, 64 recent high school graduate and undergraduate student leaders from 16 countries and the West Bank and Gaza will take part in academic programming on the campuses of Benedictine University, the University of Delaware, and Montana State University. The context of each campus program will be distinct, ranging in subject matter from diversity to leadership to the American west, and will include community service and volunteer components.

MEPI is managed by the Office of the Middle East Partnership Initiative, Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs, U.S. Department of State. MEPI is a presidential initiative founded to support economic, political and educational reform efforts in the Middle East and North Africa and expanded opportunity for all people of the region, especially women and youth. More information about MEPI can be found at http://www.mepi.state.gov/

"Study of the U.S." summer program participants are among the approximately 30,000 individuals who participate in U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs exchange programs each year. For more information about this program or other exchanges, visit http://exchanges.state.gov.

I bet one wanted to visit the "Mall of America"

A good portion of the Mall staff is Muslim--janitorial work, etc. We also have a large Muslim population here. There also are now concrete barriers in front of the Mall entrances.

Because this is the university cooperating with the one in Egypt for the exchange program. It is the first year for this program, coincidence?

I was in Minneapolis for the NCAA tournament in March and I recall one of our cab drives, a Somali, telling us in great detail of the huge Somali population in the state. It sounded totally random...a while back a few Somalis were traveling the country looking for a place to live, found Minneapolis, and decided it was a nice place. They sent word back home, and news traveled fast...now it is the largest (according to him) Somali population in the US.
