Some of you folks are looking at this all wrong, IMO. It would be great news if Lieberman lost the primary for two reasons. One, it helps show how deranged the Democratic Party is becoming (go over to Kos and see how fired up they are to have Lieberman lose). But, the best reason is that Lieberman will run as an independent and get re-elected as an independent. So, as a result, the Democrats will lose a seat in the Senate. Go Lamont!!

Lots of variables about what's better.

Lamont winning and Lieberman going indy puts three Republican house members at risk because the Dems will have high turnout. Lieberman winning will cause many lefties to stay home in November. They'll be dejected that "Bush's favorite Democrat" won.

Lamont winning will suck a lot of cash from other races. It'll also split the Dems. And local candidates here in CT will have a hard time getting Dem volunteers.
