I saw that, HJ....I prayed for him. I didn't see the outcome, though. He's better, I take it! Oh, good!! How's Piper? Is she growing? Any recent pics? I probably missed them if you posted any. Dang it!
They put him into a coma to let the problem run its course, and tried to bring him back up twice. Second time worked, and he's now on just one IV.
He has a lot (6 months) of intensive therapy ahead of him, the doc said he is now a 3 month old in a 2 year old body. That may be pessimistic, but if it is, it will make the recovery seem better...I guess.
Anyway, they were afraid he wouldn't have the ability to swallow without getting fluid in his lungs, but yesterday he ate yogurt and did well. They're going to stick with IV fluids for awhile, but not for long.
His Daddy was in SEAL school up to now, and the Commandant for their training on the West Coast has been with them off and on. TriCare (military med insurance) denied the mercy flight to get them back to San Diego from Phoenix. The Commandant told them to appeal...right now...and if TriCare denied it again, he would personally have one of his birds come get the family and bring them home when the time comes for that.
Ya gotta love how the military take care of their own!
