Iran and Syria are the source of Israel's troubles today. Let them alone and they will continue to cause graver and graver trouble till probably next year when they hit Israel with nukes and completely destroy it.
Israel does not have time on its side.

We do not need to widen the war and expend ordinance to places that will be of some use.Syria knows if they attack they will get nuked. I had an interesting conversation with someone at Stratfor.com about this. The goal should be to permanently dent Hezbollah's fortified bunker structure. If you destroy the bunkers, Hezbollah will collapse because their will be no sources of ammunition. Those bunkers are similar to those with Japanese during WWII. They are "digging in" for a long fight. Those bunkers also set up to hold up thousands of men and are designed to stay for weeks destroying those bunkers will cause them to fold. Also destroying those backwater roads that straddle will do also some good. You can still carry ammunition by donkey cart and bring in men. This map will illustrate my point
There are still miles of borders in which the enemy can slip through unnoticed.
