Homeland Security investigator Christopher Sanchez received a telephone call from Border Patrol agent Rene Sanchez about Aldrete-Davila's encounter with Ramos and Compean. Rene Sanchez stated "that Osbaldo Aldrete-Davila's mother, Marcadia Aldrete-Davila, contacted Rene Sanchez's mother-in-law, Gregoria Toquinto, and advised her about the BP agents shooting Aldrete-Davila. Toquinto told her son-in-law, Rene Sanchez, of the incident, and he spoke to smuggler Aldrete-Davila via a telephone call."

During the trial, the connection between Rene Sanchez and Aldrete-Davila confused the Ramos family, and "we questioned how an agent from Arizona would know or want to defend a drug smuggler from Mexico," said Monica Ramos.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Debra Kanof bristled when asked about the Rene Sanchez/Aldrete-Davila connection. "It's an unconscionable accusation that Sanchez is associated with a drug dealer," she said. "Most BP agents who are Hispanic have family from Mexico."

No, corrupt prosecutor woman, it's a fact that this BP agent is related to a drug dealer through marriage. If the last name similarity isn't just a coincidence, so is the Homeland Security investigator. Where does this filthy buck stop?

"The Border Patrol pursuit policy prohibits the pursuit of someone."

So if someone just walks away from a border patrol agent, there is nothing he can do about it, because then he'd be pursuing them, and thats prohibited???

HALT! Or I say halt, again.

I said HALT!

I'm warning you. Don't make me say HALT again.

I mean it. If you don't halt right now, I'm going to say halt.

Thats it. HALT!!!

Thats it. Now you've made me real mad. I'm calling for backup, where we'll all say halt together.

No your really in trouble.

"shooting him in the back violated his civil rights, "

Do you believe that you can shoot someone in the back if you suspect him of being illegal?

A Texas jury convicted the pair of assault with serious bodily injury; assault with a deadly weapon; discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence; and a civil rights violation. Compean and Ramos also were convicted of four counts and two counts, respectively, of obstruction of justice for not reporting that their weapons had been fired.

Defending the border... pursuing drug smugglers... these are "crimes of violence???

The jury acquitted both men of assault with intent to commit murder. But the conviction for discharge of a firearm in relation to a crime of violence requires a minimum 10-year prison sentence. The sentences for the other convictions vary.

Unbelievable--they charged them with murder???

Kanof bristled when asked about the Rene Sanchez/Aldrete-Davila connection. "It's an unconscionable accusation that Sanchez is associated with a drug dealer"...

No, Ms. Kanof--what is unconsionable is that instead of setting up a sting operation to go after the drug smugglers and those who allegedly wanted to go on a Border Patrol killing spree, you chose to paint this as some sort of intentional murder mission by what appear to be fine officers of the BP.

...they broke Border Patrol rules about discharging their weapons and preserving a crime scene.

So give them the five day suspension.

The smuggler was given full immunity to testify against the agents and complete medical care at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, in El Paso.

How many pounds of Marijuana was that again?

...immunity granted to Aldrete-Davila and the other agents in exchange for testifying against Ramos and Compean.

Why did the other agents need immunity? Were they complicit in the drug smuggling? Did they also not follow procedure?

Why is this administration going after our troops and border security?

Probably to suck up to the pacifists in the media and the Democratic Party.

I don't know the Democrats are trying to control Congress this November. The Republicans are doing a pretty good job of giving them everything they want and telling the people who worked hard to get them there to go F*** themselves.

How can good win out if bad is always protected over good.. this seems to be the pattern with everything in this world anymore.. don't defend yourself from harm or you will harm the harmer.

"The administration is trying to intimidate front-line agents from doing their job," he added. "If they can't do it administratively, they'll do it with trumped-up criminal charges.

George Bush is dedicated to keep the borders open and the illegals flowing. What a piece of work he turned out to be.

He's hell bent on making certain he ranks lower than Jimmy Carter in the annals of American history.

So am I. I tell you something else, I'm sick of seeing our troops and now our border patrol agents being scarificed and left hanging in the wind by our government. Just who in the hell is supposed to be protecting us now?
