That was a playwright who said of a drama critic who had panned his latest production,

"I have your review in front of me. In a moment it will be behind me."

If not Shaw, may have been Alec Woollcott.

Actually, that's a famous remark by the 19th century composer Max Reger regarding a review written by a critic he held in slight regard. See here for a reference.
