Tennesseans aren't dumb. Bryant ran a bad campaign while the Corker one was flushed with money. The Corker media buys have literally overwhelmed the state for the past few months.

Hilleary is really the one who hurt Bryant. He split the conservative base. Bryant spent much of the campaign fighting it out with him rather than exposing Corker. Bryant simply didn't have a chance.

It's a fair question. We Tennesseans were smart enough to deny Albert Gore Junior a favorite son vote in '04 (and save the Republic).
