"ONE IN 3 AMERICANS SAY U.S. AIDED 9/11 "

Actually, this is refreshing news to me because I assumed that at least 45% of Americans were nuts.

Remember that now. Wasn't there another program called "Mongoose"?

More than one-third of Americans suspect federal officials assisted in the 9/11 terrorist attacks or took no action to stop them so the United States could go to war in the Middle East, according to a new poll.

I'll bet a donut that the poll question was: Do you think that US federal officials assisted in the 9/11 attacks?
A. Yes
B. No
C. They took no action to prevent it.

B and C are reasonable answers. (How could you stop it given the situation at the time?)

66% say "No", 20% say "Took no action", and 14% (the real barking moonbats) say "Yes"...

Then the numbers are spun to say "Yes" and "Took no action" got 34%... and the reason the pollsters will supply for all of those "C" votes is "so the United States could go to war in the Middle East", even though it was not part of the original polling question.

yes, this was part of that overall operation. What I mean by bringing it up is, the idea of false flag operations is not only conceivable, its been planned. The facts should be discussed, but the overall idea not dismissed out of hand.

I thought the 'Rangers ' acquitted themselves damn well in Somalia. I know I only got most of it from 'BlackHawk Down' but if thats the way it really went.. Gary and Randy.... 2 CMoH's and a daring rescue, thats nothing to be ashamed of.

Don't get me wrong, those guys in Somalia did their jobs and deserve all the credit for the hard work.

But Clinton pulled them out of there leaving the warlords still in charge of the mess. That was what Osama was paying attention to.

I own Black Hawk Down as well. A tremendous film. I also own the book.

I wonder if 'cheers' is like our 'best wishes' or 'regards?'

I've not been to England, but loved my trip to Germany, Austria, France and Switzerland. Europe seems so very much cleaner to me, since there aren't as many signs all over the place!

Cheers!

I like Europe as well.

Unfortunately, it looks like we are going to have a fight on our hands to keep it.

.....

Cheers:

[Brit] An informal farewell remark
- toodle-oo, toodle-pip [Brit], ta-ta [Brit], ta-ra [UK]

[Brit] Exclamation expressing gratitude
- ta [Brit], thank you, thanks

Friendly remark said before starting to drink an alcoholic beverage
- skol, skoal, bottoms up

Since I just opened a can of beer, it kinda took on the third meaning there as well, but in ending an internet post I use it interchangebly with best regards.

Just slightly more informal :-)

If you are ever in Europe again. Come by Norway. See the fjords - and the blondes :-)

Cheers.

The people who debate in favor of the US pulling troops out of places like Iraq forget that point about Osama being emboldened by our pulling out of Somalia. They think that by staying there, we breed more terrorists, but they forget that by pulling out, we fill their heads with the belief that they can pull off their grandiose plots which target US soil.

Thank you for the diction lesson, twit. You are most helpful, and I do know some British expressions. For instance, if you say you want to knock me up I know it means to 'come round my flat' for me and not that you want to make me 'with child!' ;o)

Cheers...have one for me, will ya? Texans and beer are naturall go-togethers!
