Wonder what would happen to me if I moved to Mexico and just decided to stay. Life's good in Acapulco. Weather is nice in winter. That should be enough to convince the Mexicans that I am a good citizen.
I'd think most people wouldn't even notice...until you started using the Emergency Room as your general practicioner, signed up for all the welfare freebies, tried to use forged government documents, raped the local children, and marched in the streets demanding to be accepted and respected. Then, in Mexico, you'd be dragged away in the night and never heard from again.

Many do. The problem is you can't own property, only lease it. The Mexican Gov. can upset your little paradise at any time.
