the current "migration phenomenon" and the US government complicity is tragic and sad, the results will be devastating, but I disagree on the time frame of 20 years, I am thinking more like 60 years.

All that blood spilled by soldiers for the cost of freedom, and our elected pork barrel brokers just give it away to the ungrateful huddled masses.....

tragic

He is more right than he will ever know, but I doubt he'll be "running things"..he's just cheap labor to feed the machine.

We are living in a transition period, moving away from the nation-state. I'm trying to figure out if it is towards trans-national arrangements or some kind of Corporate State.
We've done this before, from monarchies and personal fiefdoms towards "nations", a revolutionary concept in the 1700's. It can happen again, and I'd humbly sugget it is happening as we speak.

For example, mass migrations from the poor to the rich nations are moving unchecked across the globe. It's not just an American phenomenon. Throughout the world nations are basically dissolving themsleves in order to facilitate commerce.

Couple this with the globalization of the economy and the nation-state, as we once knew it, is becoming increasingly meaningless. Real power can either devolve to local communities, in which case they will be subject to the whims of economic powers beyond their control, or states can dissolve themselves and erect regional trading blocs to regulate commerce and provide security for their consumers/producers. Security will also be essential to maintain access to resources that the consumer oriented economy depends on.

I used to rant and rave about it, but I am slowly coming to terms with it. My nation seems hell bent on suicide, by various methods, and most people are more interested in the latest "American Idol".

End rant..
(Sometimes when I watch the news I feel like I am channeling Ted Kazinski..hehe)
