And in this instance, there are plenty of folks who suggest and even go so far as to teach that this verse means "be a good Christian and you will always be prepared when Jesus comes like a thief in the night, because no one really knows the day or the hour"...
1Th 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
But that's not what the verse means...How do I know that...Because that's not what the verse says
It says, "I am not in darkness, therefore, I WILL know the times and seasons...And what's that mean??? You won't find it in the 'original' Greek...
'Seasons' is pretty self explanatory...It means seasons...Times on the other hand will require some Bible study (II Tim 2:15) but it's in there...
