"Sounds like the ASSUMPTIONS about "them" above are rather . . . arbitrary and unmoveable."
I don't have a clue what you are talking about.
The divorce papers are in Jeremiah. You can read it yourself.
This is one of my favorite splitter verses. Its a real fork in the road and separates the students from the lazy. Ever notice that this verse is used mostly as a club (by the lazy) swing at the students. But check this out.
Rosh HaShanah is known as The Day No One Knows so when Yeshua dropped that line everyone (Jewish that is) knew exactly what He was talking about. And Rosh HaShanah is a two day holiday so its true I dont know the day, but I do know the Feast. Check out
nuff said.
Good point.
"them" in those verses has more than one plausible meaning.
Choosing one arbitrarily or merely to suit one's biases is not overly impressive, to me.
As well as exhorting those listening that they'd durn well better be able to tell the season given that they could tell the weather.
A lopsided clinging to PART of what He said while ignoring the rest of it is not very impressive, to me.
Apparently we all read different bibles...
Maybe he wants people to enjoy their life in the mean time. He understands God wants people to live their life for him and continue on with regular life, but to keep their heart right should his return be unexpected.
Thanks.
The word Rapture is describing the event when God's Children will be taken up, which is explained in the bible. A word has been given to describe this event, which most of us understand. It doesn't mean the event is not written of in the bible.
lol Miller time.
clinton is too old and worn out anyway
Hell just froze over. Newsweak and MSNBC just did a decent article on a Christian minister and the end times. I expected the big flash to happen any second.
LaHaye has written a series of 'fiction' books taken from the book of Revelations. He states they are Fiction, however his creative characters encountering the 'Seals' are written out well . These are an awesome set of books which are fun to read. In the process, it allows people to do some thinking and soul searching. He has done nothing wrong. His fans love his work and I have enjoyed the series alot!
If you have not read the series, then it is a bit much to criticize them or his motive.
That depends on the translation you're using. 1 John 5:7-8 may or may not contain a phrase known as the "Johannine Comma" which reads: "...in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth...."
The full text of these verses with the Johannine Comma included reads: "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. 8 And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one."
There is disagreement as to whether this phrase is a legitimate part of Scripture however. I'm not sure whether it is included in Catholic translations or not.
Wellll, I gather he's worn a lot of women out, too.
And he sure burned out a lot of patriots in the land he sold down the river.
I think that you are a little confused here. The Textus Receptus is the Greek text of the New Testament accepted by the Reformers as the most authentic text of the New Testament.
You may be referring to the Catholic's Septuagint but that is by no means the Textus Receptus...
The Septuagint is not a Catholic text but a Jewish translation of the Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament only) into Greek. Only the Eastern Orthodox churches accept the Septuagint as normative.
And again, since the Septuagint contains no New Testament material at all, it is impossible for me to confuse it with the Textus Receptus of the New Testament.
Does that clarify the matter at all?
I reiterate - the text I translated is the Greek Textus Receptus, the same one used by the KJV translators. It is available in an inexpensive edition from the Trinitarian Bible Society - a conservative KJV-promoting Reformed Bible society.
Good.
Is it out of your system now?
Are you ready to be serious and stop the playground antics?
Anything to sell more books.
