"“Students need to have an accurate assessment of the state of the facts in regard to Darwin’s theory,” said John West, a vice president for the Center for Science and Culture at the Seattle-based, anti-evolution Discovery Institute."

And maybe now they will.

“Students need to have an accurate assessment of the state of the facts in regard to Darwin’s theory,” said John West, a vice president for the Center for Science and Culture at the Seattle-based, anti-evolution Discovery Institute.

The voters seem to agree on wanting an accurate assessment of the facts.

You have to be careful what you ask for.

Still hard at it, I see, vainly trying to close minds to free and open debate.

Bigoted Victorial-era Darwnists might manage close this flimsy door in its frame, but the barn walls are already falling all around it.

Face it, PH. Your side lost by having to turn to seedy politics and the thugs of the ACLU to protect "science" from scientific inquiry. History will record that you were disgraced.

“Obviously money can’t buy elections,” she said. “I think the people of Kansas are tired of being the laughingstock not only of the nation but the world.”

That's a bit harsh. I'm sure they had the Vedic Creationists and Scientologists pulling for them.

Darwin won.

Observation supports the conclusion that Darwin usually wins.

This is good news for the science classroom.

I don't understand why you have to be labeled a moderate conservative to understand how science works and how the scientific theories of evolution work.

"I’d like to say to the good citizens of Dover Kansas: if there is a disaster in your area, don’t turn to God, you just rejected him from your city school board," Robertson said.

I wonder what curse Pat will be putting on Kansas for its crime.

Dogbert says to Dilbert,"I've decided to spend more time discussing things I know nothing about!"

I suspect that very few people have a clear and concise understanding of cellular reproduction, DNA, RNA, etc., and yet feel themselves well qualified to pronounce the THEORY of evolution as proven and peer-reviewed fact.

May I suggest asking each board member to take a 100 question test on cell genetics and molecular biology. I doubt if any of them could achieve a passing grade.

“Students need to have an accurate assessment of the state of the facts in regard to Darwin’s theory,” said John West

Why, when they have no training in critical thinking?

I hate it when the "conservatives" lose but it's what you have to expect when idiots who call themselves conservatives play the Luddite card and make their position synonymous with willful pig headed ignorance about simple grade school biology.

Sorry the Conservative lost, but his position on Evolution was idiotic - and that's being kind.

What really upsets me is how the media equating conservative with being anti-evolution.
