It's not just Western civilization...it's civilization period. However, like dinosaurs, it's time for a few cultures to die out in the process. The French are the first that come to mind in that category.
If Europe was all there was to it, I'd be tempted to say "They are getting what they deserve." But it's not, so we can't.
