I was thinking the same thing - I bet Fidel is getting a level of care - specialists, hi tech diagnostic equipment,etc. - that the average Cuban wouldn't see in a dozen lifetimes.
the average cuban won't see much more than aspirin/NSAIDs in their lifetime. without money there isn't much in the way of pharmaceuticals available. i have seen public hospitals in countries much better off than cuba (panama mainly) and it isn't something many of the posters on this thread seem to grasp. Given the trade/hard currency situation in cuba, and from what i have read, it has to be hell.
i would bet castro is dead, dying, or flown to europe for treatment.
