"Comments draw criticism" -- a non-story. You almost knew it would be AP. No doubt scads of liberal papers and media will pick it up.

And yet, for people who aren't wearing a garbage bag over their mind, Harris's comments are remarkably insightful and fresh. Her willingness to speak out and ignore political correctness is a tonic. That was Goldwater's great appeal. He spoke of principle instead of politics-as-usual.

Hooray for Katherine Harris! Even if she loses, she has defied the liberal furies to speak words we do not hear nearly enough. Those who have ears will hear her message.
