DAMASCUS (Reuters) - Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told the Syrian military on Monday to raise its readiness, pledging not to abandon support for Lebanese resistance against Israel.
"We are facing international circumstances and regional challenges that require caution, alert, readiness and preparedness," Assad said.
"The barbaric war of annihilation the Israeli aggression is waging on our people in Lebanon and Palestine is increasing in ferocity," Assad said in a written address on the occasion of the 61st anniversary of the foundation of the Syria Arab Army.

Your right its Atomic Annie from Operation Upsot Knothole/Grable. But they do have an tactical nuke for a 155 mm cannon. That is interesting. Any details on that?
I am asking because I have seen tactical nukes (they weren't strategic unless I have the definition wrong) and they were bombs that a carrier launched plane would have to carry.
They were way bigger than anything else ordnance-wise, no idea of the yield.
Something as small as a 155mm sounds extremely dangerous to handle and could easily fall into the wrong hands.

The Arab mentality is emboldened by their enemies weakness.... Were it not for civilians that would inevitably be involved, one way to beat these guys may be to draw them into a war by acting weak and then kicking their heathen selves straight to the front of Satan's line.
I was talking to a friend today who offered that the Arabs have never in their history fought a traditional war. Even back in the 4th century, they fought in small units and made hit and run strikes.

That makes sense, given their nomadic, tribal nature.

We have a "perfect storm" of ethnic hatred and countries and parties settling old scores that could lead to tragic results. Don't forget, many of these "parties" see dying for their cause as an honor . . . that is the most disturbing part of the whole issue, to me, that they are not only willing, but eager to die for their cause, and want to take others with them.

"The barbaric war of annihilation the Israeli aggression is waging on our people in Lebanon and Palestine is increasing in ferocity," So Assad is admitting that Syrians are fighting against Israel in Lebanon??
