Yes Victory at Sea was great. I have it on DVD. Will dust it off and watch it again! Had the record albums as a teen and remember watching it as a little kid in the 50's.

"Truth is we just left a church because of a leftist pastor. He didn't have a shirt to prove his views either. And we were not in what one would call one of the left denominations."
I'm Roman Catholic. We have a very small congregation and no longer even have our own priest. We share.

I have to admit I was wondering about his shirt. The back of it said something about needing works as well as grace. So, I wasn't completely sure if he (by wearing the tee shirt) was saying he was left of center, or if he was saying that fundamentalists are so far right that anything else must be left. Maybe I should ask him next Sunday...although I may not like the answer I get.

I am sorry to hear that. It seems to be a sign of the times. We all have to pray that this country, especially the younger generation, will return to God and His Word.

I was a kid also when the series was first on in the 50s.
We have a great Navy and enjoy seeing the ships here in San Diego especially the USS Ronald Reagan

It was on the television daily and I watched it after school. I believe it was on only 15 minutes.
From Google.....Classic serial filled with slam-bang wartime action, as Navy Intelligence officer Don Winslow squares off against the mysterious saboteur known as the Scorpion. Don Terry, Walter Sande, Anne Nagel star. 15 episodes; 234 min.

20 something years after my divorce . . . wife choosing a co-worker instead . . . I'm still incredulous . . .
Several years into the marriage, My RN wife and I were watching the credits to the last VICTORY AT SEE show . . . and she turns to me and asks in all sincerity--6 years younger than I--
"Uhh, so, who won the JAPANESE/AMERICAN war anyway?"
How does a wise hubby answer that question lovingly?

"unanimous w/ one abstention." Yeah, Qatar,
Sage, the "unanimouse w/ one abstention" was the Israeli cabinet vote. I'm pretty such Qatar doesn't get a vote in the Israeli cabinet. ;o)

Just FYI - after a few days of relative calm, Baghdad is rough again today. We've heard a few explosions and 36 people have been killed by car bombs.
