Few have spared a thought for the loss of innocent life, and many have even cheered and made sport in a manner not too dissimilar to the way Arabs cheered our loss of life on 9/11.

Unfortunately,Arabs were not the only ones recorded cheering our loss of life on 9/11.

5 Israelis detained for `puzzling behavior' after WTC tragedy
By Yossi Melman

The Foreign Ministry said in response that it had been informed by the consulate in New York that the FBI had arrested the five for "puzzling behavior." They are said to have had been caught videotaping the disaster and shouting in what was interpreted as cries of joy and mockery.

Do you have a link to the actual video and pictures of these Israelis allegedly cheering or are you just repeating a bullsh*t urban legend that has been debunked everywhere except for the most rabid moonbat sites?

Unfortunately,Arabs were not the only ones recorded cheering our loss of life on 9/11.

Thousands of Arabs, even more Muslims [not all Muslims are Arabs]videotaped in their dances. And lots of quotes from some.

Not to mention a pantload of American college profs and lib activists.

Verses a grand total of five guys who are alleged to have been acting funny :

5 Israelis detained for `puzzling behavior' after WTC tragedy
By Yossi Melman

...The Foreign Ministry said in response that it had been informed by the consulate in New York that the FBI had arrested the five for "puzzling behavior." They are said to have had been caught videotaping the disaster and shouting in what was interpreted as cries of joy and mockery.

One of the five is said to be a US citizen in your article.

Another is a citizen of a "European country" which oddly enough the article neglects to name, and the uncurious reporter didn't inquire about, perhaps since it doesn't add the hysteria. The article doesn't specify if they are Israeli Arabs or Jews or Christians but we'll assume for the moment they are jews, since I recall when this made the news the names sounded Jewish- unless I'm mixing it up with another case.

Oddly enough no one who posts peices on this incident even mentions that country the one is a citizen of, either.

Back to the article:

...The Foreign Ministry said in response that it had been informed by the consulate in New York that the FBI had arrested the five for "puzzling behavior."

I don't think "puzzling behavior" is illegal so they were probably arrested for discrepencies with their licenses or passports.

They are said to have had been caught videotaping the disaster and shouting in what was interpreted as cries of joy and mockery.

A couple of additional holes to be found here. The article says "they are said to have been caught videotaping..." but doesn't tell us who caught them, who accused them, or any such thing. Videotaping wasn't illegal, and there were a number of people with cameras handy that day. "They are said" by whom? Someone obviously reported some suspicions about them, though, otherwise they would not have been caught, but those suspicions may have simply been based on a witness observing their middle eastern looks and hearing an incomprehensible language. Notice the article does not say the FBI said this- it just leaves it up in the air.

Back to the paragraph again :

They are said to have had been...shouting in what was interpreted as cries of joy and mockery.

Again, they are said by whom? Not the FBI. Not a named source. Greg Packer, man on the street, perhaps?

Who interpreted their cries? Since the reporter uses the term "was interpreted," it's obvious the anonymous and maybe nonexistant witness [or reporter's imaginary friend] didn't understand what the guys were saying. We'll assume there was a real witness, though. We will also assume he heard them emit cries.

It is reasonable to assume the witness heard them emitting their cries in a language other than his own. But the report doesn't even say if the witness could discern what language it was, so it is clear he not only didn't understand the details, he didn't understand anything they said. The account doesn't mention any gestures of any kind. The conclusion of the witness was apparently derived strictly from their shouts. For all the witness knew the shouts were simply of surprise and shock and disbelief.

Which brings us to another hole in the report. The accused were on a rooftop doing the filming - which I don't contest. Wouldn't they notice another witness if he was on their company's rooftop with them? If he was on the rooftop with them, likely a fellow employee, why would they be so obvious? And if he wasn't on the rooftop, then how much could he have really heard of their cries? Enough to determine their meaning? That's a big stretch. Is there a possibility in the tensions of the moment he could have misinterpreted their cries assuming he heard them?

Absolutely, I'd say the possibility is very strong. We had a guy murder a Sikh gas station attendant right after 911 because he wrongly "interpreted" the guy was a muslim terorist, after all.

Since nothing came of it besides the passport problems so we are told, there apparently wasn't as much to the story as some would have us believe. There is an immigration violation, but no confirmation of the claims of cheering and mockery.

We had way more evidence against the Arab med students on the Florida tollroad who were let go. At least in that case the Georgia witness understood the language, the dog alerted on both cars, and the witnesses were named.
