It isn't that I don't understand that politicians say one thing for public consumption and say other things privately. In this particular case, I would hope that someone would have the presence of mind to hold a comment until more information is forthcoming. A better statement, IMO, would be to decry the deaths of so many innocent civilians adjacent to armed and actively fighting Hezbollah terrorists. And remind the public again about how the U.N. personnel were killed when their post was surrounded by fighting Hezbelloh terrorists.

They apparently do not wish to make it a debating exercise by making your obvious points.

The ears of those they intend the statements for apparently only want to hear America say one thing and that is to decry the deaths and injuries and suffering and to say something, anything, that can sound critical or demanding of Israel.

Behind the scenes, there is no telling what kind of hardball is being played with these Hezbollah/Iran/Syria enablers.
