I've been following politics for many years and I learned long ago, not to place much credence in the polls this far out. They're almost meaningless at this point. We're two years and three months away from the 2008 Presidential election. Two years away from the GOP convention. Roughly 1-1/2 years away from the Iowa caucus and the New Hampshire primary. And 8-12 months away from the earliest candidate declarations for 2008.

For me this debate is more about Rudy Giuliani, not John McCain. Anyway. Once the average conservative Republican gets around to reviewing Rudy`s political record, "da Mayors" lead in most of these early polls, will evaporate. Social conservatives will not buy what Rudy is selling and for good reason. Liberalism doesn't sell for most Republicans, and even fewer conservatives

Just offering a little education in American politics. Obviously you don't understand that neocon Republicans like Kristol and Krauthammer, can be RINO`s too. Same goes for libertarian Republicans and liberal Republicans. A RINO is someone who doesn't support a majority of the GOP`s political platform. Which BTW, is a fairly conservative platform.

For right now, that's all we got.
They are still much better than your "and in that matchup conservatives would reluctantly choose McCain over the liberal Giulaini. "
You basically have nothing to back that up, apart from vague references to all these conservatives you personally know. That doesn't really know much.
I know plenty of conservatives too, and non of them has any use for McClain. So what?

"For me this debate is more about Rudy Giuliani, not John McCain."

Yup.
And for right now Rudy is clobbering McCain, even amongst conservatives.

"Once the average conservative Republican gets around to reviewing Rudy`s political record, "da Mayors" lead in most of these early polls, will evaporate."

Even in polls where Rudy's liberal positions have been mentioned to pollsters before questioning them, Rudy is still beating McCain.
Conservatives already know McCain very well, (the puffed up McCain loves publicity even more than Paris Hilton), and what they know, they don't much like.

" Social conservatives will not buy what Rudy is selling and for good reason. Liberalism doesn't sell for most Republicans, and even fewer conservatives "

You keep pretending to speak for conservatives, with a point of view that is contrary to all evidence.
The reality on the ground today does not support you.

Where is Kristol and Krauthammer in that post again?
And RINO's and "neocons" are far apart on practically any issue I can think of. From abortion to defense to the support for the war on Iraq to even wanting to campaign with President Bush.
You only haver to look at the RINO Lincoln Chafee, and compare him to a "necon" like say Strom Thurmond. They were as far apart on most issues as you could get, almost like day and night.
