The blood alcohol level reported was .12 not .21. Do try and get your "facts" straight.

If the TMZ is like other scandal rags the " news " they report is actually paid for gossip. It is about as reliable as the DNC pravda sites for accurate news.

Sounds like a sensationalist rag throwing a bloody bone to the trailer trash crowd to gnaw on.

Anti-semitism and Catholicism don't mix.Gibson's dad is an anti-semitic Holocaust denier. And a purported Catholic.
And Gibson admires his dad; he said so.
It's no surprise that he harbors some of the same prejudices his dad does.

>Why do you have a hard time believing that? Mel was, after all, brought up by a dad who (according to his own writings) believes that sort of thing (he's also a holocaust denier).<<
I have a hard time with because he was hit from all sides by the media trying to get his to say something anti-semitic.
>>Mel is probably, normally, a rational guy. He has probably shaken off those beliefs, but stuff that's ingrained in you as a kid, tends to surface when you drink too much.<<
And that's the best argument I've heard on this - I hope you are right. I hate it when somebody who "represents" Christianity comes out as anti-semitic. The bible makes it clear that Jews are a chosen people of God.

Of course, all the left-wingers *WANT* to believe that Mel made outrageous anti-jewish remarks.
After all, he made that *antisemitic* movie years ago. The one that was one pro-Christian and told the truth about the Pharisees 2,000 years ago..
For that kind of slander, someone must pay.

Do you recall how long it was between the time Nolte was photographed by police and the time the mugshot hit the Internet? I believe it was right away, but I don't remember the exact length of time.

I hate it when somebody who "represents" Christianity comes out as anti-semitic.Gibson "represents" neither Christianity nor Catholicism. He's a director who made a movie about The Passion.
That does not make him a spokesman for Jesus.

People like me?!?...People who don't drink and drive?!? Hmmmmm....
I see that you are a little bit fuzzy on what's going on. Nobody is arguing whether Gibson did a DUI--stick with me, here. OK? What people are concerned about is the comments that Gibson has been accused of making--and a highly questionable source, TMZ, is the only source of Gibson's supposed comments. Those of us concerned about fairness want to wait to convict Gibson until we see the police report. Maybe he did it. Maybe he didn't. One more time--"fairness"--it's what you'd like for yourself. Seems fair to offer it to Gibson.

I've said things myself on occasion. Maybe when I'd had too much to drink..maybe when I've just had a bad day.
If they were published, I'd look horrid..it would not reflect who I am.
If Gibson was drunk and driving, he needs to take care of that..but "statements" someone makes..within the rights of free speech, drunk or not, should not be sensationalized.
This is someones way of making a bad situation for Mel get worse,..and YES he is a victim..not because he was drinking and driving..but because he was SPEAKING and driving.

Originally that sentence said 'represents Christianity in the minds of much of the public.'
I decided to just put "represents" in quotes instead to show that I don't think he particularly represents Christianity.
So, basically, I agree with your post.

Many adults were anti-semitic during the second world war, but it doesn't necessaily follow that their children are, too. Take it from one who was there.

For that kind of slander, someone must pay. If Gibson is guilty of this behavior, his admirers will never view him in the same way again.

Anything a californication cop has to say about Mel..is suspect in the least IMO. Look what goes on in that state!
Californicator big-wigs are after him..he gave them some ammo..so what?
