Mel is toast. Millions of dollars, superstar looks, having his own church congregation by invitation only, jets, limos...do these such as these parellel the life of a humble carpenter from Nazareth?
Reminds me of the arrogant "Q" from Trek. Perish the thought..

The "private church" sounds like a bridge too far, but I'm not a Catholic and I don't know what rules they have about this. I think Rome is comfortable about it. As for the jillions of dollars, jets, etc. the standard evangelical answer is that consist in your attutde towards the stuff. Jesus says you're supposed to use the "mammon of unrighteousness" to "make friends" so that they may "receive you into your heavenly dwelling."

If Mel is looking for where he needs to go, this may be one of those 'mysterious ways' with which God works.
