What is it going to take to convince Americans that Islam simply isn't compatible with America?
I have puzzled this for quite some time, until the obvious (SO obvious I missed it) answer came to me not long ago. This will indeed sound loony to some, but I don't care.
I recently had a nasty little discussion with a nasty little teacher who whined about No Child Left Behind. (We'll leave aside my not wanting the federal gov't involved in education for the moment.) I slowly detected that what was REALLY bothering this guy was the focus on the basics. It seemed to me like he was truly OFFENDED that the NCLB law emphasized reading, writing, history...
BOOM! That was when it hit me.
History.
See, teachers like this guy want these "soft" classes because that is where you get to mold not how a child thinks but WHAT he thinks. All these "health" classes and such are merely mind-shaping classes.
My point, finally, is that if an American is properly schooled in what this country was established to be, and how that has been perverted since Wilson and especially FDR, one will become alarmed at the rise of Islam in this country just as one would be by a rise in Fascism.
But we've taught our citizens to soften their standards, not to judge, because other points of view aren't bad, they're just different.
In many instance yes it's true, something isn't bad, it's just different from what you know. But how can anyone who knows anything about Islam think "OK, I'm just not getting it, so the fault is with my perception"?
Americans are so freakin scared of being accused of being judgmental i.e. "old fashioned" that they can't see a cancer taking root in our culture.
I don't like talking this way. But the difference between me and these libs is that I'm willing to risk being called names by idiots who don't know their country's history, so they are ignorant of the risks to it's well-being.
How many examples do people need to see to realize we are at war with, not militant Islam, but Islam?
Learn about him and you'll learn about what's going on in the schools.

I've said for a long time that if things don't change, political correctness is going to kill us.
I know you are correct about us being in a war with Islam and I no longer care (haven't for a few years now) what anybody wants to call me. Sticks and stones.....
I think it's more than being scared. PC advocates and adherents actually like the dark side, in their heart of hearts (to varying degrees, of course).
Any virtue, if not strengthened with courage, is useless anyway.
Glad to help.
