It's what she didn't say. She was very careful not to reveal anything at all -- didn't talk about hate crimes, or anything. Just that the FBI is looking into the guys relatives ("and contacts" conspicuously not mentioned!).
I think the FBI's more interested in this guy than they want to let on -- not because of him, but because of his contacts. I have no problem believing the claim that this fellow acted alone, on his own initiative. He's probably a hot-headed loony. But his "associates..." they're could be more interesting.
