They took down about 5 square blocks of Belltown almost immediately and handled the rush hour traffic at the borders of the shutdown zone so well it was almost impossible to tell anything was going on.....aside from emergency vehicles screaming into the area from every corner of the city.
Other than hearing the sirens, I didn't realize anything was happening until I tried to walk to a bar downtown to meet some friends for my birthday. The path I take to that bar is directly through the zone.....I ended up having to walk some distance around the cordoned off part of Belltown.
Good job Seattle!!! I think I will email them.
The police and ambulance response was very impressive. Looks like the PD is well-trained and very effective.
