This just makes my heart feel like it will break. My daughter was in the first tower to be hit. She was on the 38th floor. As she was in the stairwell coming down the steps, the firemen were going up. This memory still haunts her. I am so blessed that she made it out.

She was elected "Woman of the Year" in Tunisia,
she's the number one singing artist in the Middle East and her concerts are sold out from Egypt to Lebanon.
Yeah, the fundy wackaloons would kill her, but most of the folks think she's just plain wonderful.

FYI,
I sent this exact post in e-mail out to many people. Hopefully, it will get out. Thanks again for reminding everyone of why we fight!

What are we preserving if we are just as hate filled? Un-farking-believable that you could post this after viewing that video. What a simpleton you are.
What we are preserving is our lives. My grandparents hated the Nazis & Japs too. Good thing, becaused it helped propel us to beat the bastards.

I realize that we've sorta high-jacked this thread. I'm out. I see where you are coming from, I just disagree. Peace.

Believe it or not, there are many, probably millions, of "reform" muslims. Not whacked out at all. You'd probably call them MINO's. Other parts of the world, like Turkey and Indonesia are full of them. Alot of Egyptians too. Having said that, there are not nearly enough of them. IIRC, there was a survey, that showed that about 10% of Muslims worldwide that agreed with Osama. Heck, thats 100 million targets right there..
It's hard to know. I talked to a Christian Iranian co-worker who left Iran after the Shah fell, and he told me that "yeah, we used to get along fine with the Muslims." "But what percentage would you characterize as 'fundamentalist'?" "Oh, about 60%." I couldn't figure that one out.
The Lebanese Christian I know, who travels back and forth frequently, said that they used to get along fine with the Mohammedans.
So what to think? I suspect that when attacked or under pressure as a group, the bulk of the wishy-washy Mohammedans will come down on the side of fundamentalism.
Mohammedans are notoriously difficult to evangelize. One of the few hopes I have for their conversion is the gradual weakening of theocratic controls by introducing democratic procedures, as we are doing in Iraq.

Last time I looked, there were still Germans and Japanese left on this earth..Yes. But their culture was totally re-wired by us. And enough of their supporters - even those not actively taking up arms, but those supporting the politics of Nazi Germany & Imperial Japan - were killed.
I believe, as ugly as it may have been, that the firebombing of Japanese and German cities is what lead to us being able to have peaceful relations with them now. It wasn't pleasant, but it won the war for the long term.

Watch this
There is so much from 9/11 that the media has not shown the American people. It should be on TV all the time.

I would suggest that those members of the religion of Islam who are not "fundy wackaloons", as you term them, put a stop to their brothers in faith murderous fundy wackaloon behavior before they themselves become victims of collateral damage...The distinction between Islam and the enemy of civilization becomes the more murky as time progresses. Otherwise the followers of Islam need to form a circler firing squad.
