Major Owens and Code Pink
The gallery pass for the Code Pink leader who disrupted the speech by the Iraqi premier (see Michelle Malkin as well) was provided by New York's very own Congressman -- Major Owens from Brooklyn. The AP reports that the Iraqi PM:
was interrupted briefly by a shouting demonstrator wearing a pink T-shirt that read, "Troops Home Now." Medea Benjamin, 54, of San Francisco, is cofounder of the anti-war protesting group called CODEPINK.
Benjamin was lifted from her seat by officers and carried out of the House visitor's gallery, while al-Maliki paused and grimaced in irritation.
According to a GOP leadership aide, Benjamin was provided a gallery pass by Owens, who did not immediately return a call for comment. A spokeswoman for CODEPINK, which had been trying to meet with al-Maliki, said Owens' office had not been informed of any plans to disrupt the event.
What did Owen's office think Benjamin would do? Throw petals at the democratically elected leader of Iraq?
Curiously she wants Iraqi troops out of Iraq.
I tried to do it but couldn't, but this thread needs someone that can post those pix that show Howie Dean with the t-shirt andd Murtha with the Code Pink babes. Let's publicize all those that want to be associated with pro-Communists and pro-Terrorists. MurthaDean don't seem to mind.
Regarding Owens, same as McKinney, the use of the word is justified.
IMHO Major Owens should be deomoted to Minor Owens for that one.
Major Owens, RATbastard, NY
DEMOTED ... sheesh!
Knowing that a woman doing this in his country would be "punished"
Makes me glad they caught Cindy Sheehan prior to the most recent SOTU speech by President Bush.
Major Owens is my Congressman, and he hasn't returned anyone's calls in years.
By the way, he is retiring this year and his son is one of those running for his seat. Amazingly enough, he isn't the worst candidate in the race.
Thanks for the synopsis of her career. Bttt.
HHHHHuuuhhhhh.....?!
His creepy son is currently seeking his seat in Congress.
He needs to be censored and government funds need to be withheld from his district for campaign allotments.
