Oh, you are a sweet one. I am 52 years old, and grew up in Metro New York. When I was a tiny kid, my little playmates, mostly daughters of first-generation Italian immigrants, all had their ears pierced when they were infants. In my elementary school, which was a true melting pot of many cultures, many, if not most, of the young girls from Italian and Hispanic immigrant families had pierced ears. I learned it was simply traditional in their backgrounds. There's absolutely nothing sexual or negative or primitive, as your photo implies about it.
Get over yourself.
I'm not interested in your 1950s elementary school, melting pot, blah blah blah.
My point is that allowing pre-teen girls TODAY, when we have so many sexual predators preying on children, to dress like prostitutes and wear adult-style jewelry is not helping the situation.
I'm sorry you're so fixated on your 1950s childhood that you can't grasp that simple point.
