How do they explain that many glaciers actually grew during the 1800's?
Could it be that the Earth cycles through weather patterns?
No thats too logical.

So how do they explain the hot temperatures 300 years ago? Actually, they don't. If you read carefully, it was 300 years ago that they started keeping track of temperatures. Nothing in this statement implies how hot it was 300 years ago.
FWIW, I agree that the alarm over these temps is overblown.

That's the key. Weather runs in cycles. I believe the people fueling this craziness knows that well. They count on the ignorant masses to grab their illogical rant and run with it.

300 years ago Europe was coming out a a mini ice-age. Maybe, the Gulf Stream had been diminished during that ice-age. It has been up ever since. Hans Brinker was skating on the Zider Zee, something they haven't done for a long time now.

How do they explain one of the coldest winters they and the rest of europe just had?

It was all those SUV's, greedy Republicans, and evil corporatists like Halliburton. Oh, yeah, and it was all Bush's fault!
