"Then WHY was it so HOT there 300 years ago? "

It wasn't hot 300 years ago. That is when they started keeping records.

I hope it gets even hotter in Holland so that the Dutch ladies come to vacation in the cool Rocky Mountains to play with their tulips! I barely survived their last memorable exodus to cooler climates three hundred years ago to Scotland!

Remember Tulips are better than one!

And the sky is NOT falling!

" Quite simply, anybody who points to the current heat waves doesn't even understand their own hypothesis and may be dismissed with a wave of the hand."

True. On the other hand, I believe there is quite conclusive proof of global warming. Over the past thirty years there is statistically significant photographic evidence that the polar ice caps have reduced in size. That is, the CO2 ice caps on Mars.

It was all those SUV's, greedy Republicans, and evil corporatists like Halliburton. Oh, yeah, and it was all Bush's fault!

"July hottest month in Netherlands in 300 years"

And if the hottest month HAD been 300 years ago, we'd be in a COOLING trend, right?

Things change. Cope.
