I remember those! Today, that would be considered too humiliating, I imagine.
My parents never used one, our incentive to stick close and out of the way was dads belt when he got home...guess thats child abuse now.
When my oldest was about 8 I got so frustrated about her roaming out of my view in a mall, I took the belt off my coat and tied it to her. She was humiliated, but she didn't pull that stunt again. My girls were kept in carts and had adult supervision and still acted up. Geez...kids.
BTW, a lady stopped my daughter at Kroger's the other day to remark on what wonderful children she had...LOL, if she only knew.
