I'm catching up, too. Had a visit from my youngest daughter and her two-year old son for several hours this afternoon. I love two-year olds, but I may be ready for a nap. :)
I am of the stripe that all children should be institutionalized at birth, taught to read, write and do math, taught respect and released at age 18 after taking a final exam and then ONLY if they have a job and can make a contribution to society. If they fail their final exam in any of the above areas they should be forced to retake the entire 18 year course again and again until they get it right.
