Honestly, I don't know. I just remember hearing that she is trying to promote Islam as peaceful, I could be wrong about, though.
I know alot of people value Steve Emerson's take on terrorists. Did you read the responses on LGF?

I can't imagine why Karen would go to Muslim nations to promote Islam as a religion of peace...

FWIW..whatever Karen Hughes was supposed to accomplish overseas seems to have been a failure, unfortunately.
She should be in the White House helping President Bush directly...that is what she is best at.
