Probably not. The point is, we wouldn't have had experienced the freedom we have had. I say that in all honest past tense, because I see our freedoms whittling away day by day thanks to this PC world we live in today.

I wasn't quibbling -- just seconding the important point y'all made.

In 1941, everyone knew we were fighting for our way of life.

In 2004, 48% of Americans voted for the guy who said that global Islamist terrorism is but "a nuisance" to be addressed with enhanced law enforcement (administered, presumably, by liberal Democratic judges).

It matters not whether a loss in this war would have our grandchildren speaking Farsi or Arabic -- it's time folks awakened to the reality that we don't always get to vote on whether we're at war...
