Y' know, regarding travel warnings, when I went to the Philippines (3 times) there were travel warnings out, then too. Made sure I researched the heck out of it & was going to safe areas (my wife-to-be made pretty darn sure of that too!) Can't say I was TOTALLY safe, what city is, but sure wouldn't have been crying to our gov't if something had happened. By comparison, you couldn't get me to go to Lebanon (before all this happened) for anything, unless it was to get my wife out of there.

Hello,
I went to Peru in 1996, and also read the travel warnings very carefully. I knew that if I went North, I would be in danger of the Shining Path, staying Central or South I would be relatively safe.
Personal responsibility in our decisions, what a amazing concept...
