Lebanonese Parliament Speaker (Nabih Berrir) has rejected Rice's proposals

From a Reuters article:

But Rice later told Shi'ite Muslim Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri, who is an ally of Hizbollah and is also close to Syria, that "the situation on the border cannot return to what it was before July 12," a Lebanese political source

Bahrain newspaper reported that in Sept. '06, Iran will need to start rationing gasoline, because of their lack of refining capacity. The leaders are concerned with the reaction of the public to this. The Parliament rejects spending more money to subsidize the cost of fuel dur in inflation concerns, inflation there currently running 12.1%. Sooooooo, are they in need of a distraction in their own country, who better than US/Israel to blaim.

I don't like where this is going, but I didn't like the "Roadmap to Peace" either. Guess it's going to be more of the same.
