Brit Hume nailing Dennis Hastert down on whether and to what extent he would side with Jefferson was priceless!

Hastert kept trying to make it sound like he and Jefferson were poles apart on their conception of what the separation of powers implies about Congressional immunity to search and seizure, but Hume was just too knowledgeable for that and kept pressing... I don't want to put words in Hastert's mouth but hopefully interviews like this cause him to reconsider his notion of Congress's special privileges.

Hume was of course also masterful as moderator, and since Gigot wasn't focusing on immigration, he did a good job taking Brit's place in the refuting-Juan position.

What I'm wondering is, did anybody catch Mort Kondrake insult Rush Limbaugh this week on Beltway Boys, saying something like "(the far Left supporting Ned Lamont) are just as hateful as demagogues like Rush Limbaugh?" I don't remember his exact wording, but as Daschle would say, I was disappointed that Fred Barnes's only defense of Rush was that the far left was much more hateful, because I generally admire Fred. Did anyone hear that? What is the Weekly Standard's problem with Rush? Other than Hugh Hewitt, they all seem to look down on him.

#465, probably because Rush can have an off the cuff thought monologue and not stammer through it like Fred and Mort do. Rush does their homework for them, and even when they use his work they get it wrong a lot of the times. They both are stuck on Beltway Stoo-pid, and sometimes I think they pander to the wackos and those lightweight dems that listen to Fox News Watch to see when Neal Gabler is going to go off the deep end. He sounds more and more nutty and any day I expect him to star in the real life version of "one flew over the Cuckoo's nest" like Lawrence O'Donnell did on Scarborough. That would be a great thread. We could name it "Kook, kook act Two".

I did hear Mort say that...but, I think Rush feeds off of it...so I just chuckle.

A couple of weeks ago, both Mort and Fred said something that really scared me...but I didn't post on it (forgot)...

They were discussing the news that the billionaire (dang, his name escapes me)..had donated a TON of his billions to the Bill Gates Foundation.

And both of them said that in this case, it is too bad that so few people control all of the money, and it may be better to have some of that spread out to the poor. YIKES.

Yes, I saw that comment by Kondracke, and my first thought was how stupid, and my second thought was, Mort has obviously never listened to Rush if he equated him to Michael Moore, etc. He mentioned Rush and Michael Savage together, and they could not be more different from each other.
