There is a teenage girl, here in Houston, who is going on trial for killing a M13 gang member, during a gang war fight. They were fighting with guns, bats, and knives in a city park.
The trial should be interesting.
BTW, her attorney is saying she doesn't want bond and has her sitting in jail, because they fear someone from the M13 gang will try to kill her in retaliation.

From what I've learned about this gang, there is nothing that can protect her. I would be very surprised if she lives long enough to testify.
