it depends on where the statement, "when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies....it will be made desolate" [paraphrase] is on the historical and prophetic calendar.
This is an absurdly negative take on this war.
Peters has said before that he thinks that Israel (and/or the US) must effect regime change in Syria for this to work out well.
Ralph, you are jumping the gun a bit. Israel said it was going to destroy Hezbollah, and they are just getting started. Don't sound like the NY Times calling Iraq a quagmire 3 days into the war because of a sandstorm.
If the rest of the world lets them complete the mission unhindered, then yes they will win.
Thanks a lot for the morale booster.
Look, Israel can win. We're Republicans here because we believe in the right thing no matter what the situation is and we never surrender.
IMO Israel has already scored a mammoth victory in this conflict. They did not get the usual automatic condemnation from the entire Arab world. Instead, countries such as Saudia Arabia and Jordan ripped into Hizbollah for starting the conflict. And I have sensed a considerable drop-off of support for Hamas as well.
The Arab world is starting to re-align along its traditional Sunni-Shia axis of conflict that was interrupted by the formation of Israel. And that is very good news for Israel. They now have a chance to deal only with their direct threats without drawing in other countries.
Easy solution:
For each missile that hits Israel = 10 bombs on Iran and Syria.
Never mind Hezbolla!
But it would take courage to do that...
The way that you lose a war against terrorists is if you weaken the use of force and allow liberals, socialists, and other undesirables to water down your policies, negotiate with these nutcases, and enact appeasement strategies. Islamics see negotiation and early pull-out as weakness. If you're negotiating, you must have hidden weaknesses and are ripe for counter-attack.
Great post.
BTW they said the same thing about Afganistan. It took a while for the rats to be bombed out.
The liberal message is as clear as always: in all cases, SURRENDER.
Yes, but they were small missiles. Israel has been going to town on Hezbollah with enormous weapons.
Israel cannot lose and she will not lose.
Yes, that is unprecedented.
Don't worry. It's not too late for Israel to open up a can on Hezbollah.
There's a Negative Nelly in Sector 7!
