This kitten I'm fostering steals all the pens and pencils off my desk....he literally picks them up in his mouth and carries them away.
LOL!!
"One morning he brought me a pair of men's Hanes briefs. My mother told me he was trying to give me the hint that I needed to find a husband."
LOL!!!
Our cat Chewie, stole socks. We would find them in his food dish.... he would usually content himself with one or two but if you removed them, he would go search for another one to take it's place.
Mr. Poopers did the same whenever he was annoyed with something.
OMG! Miss Mowie went through a phase where she washed the socks in the water bowl, then dragged them across the floor. Fortunately, she got over that one about six months ago.
Very sorry to hear your sweet kitty is so very ill. It's heart wrenching to see them suffer. Hang in there; I'm glad you got a good chuckle out of the story.
Cute! :-D
This is how I ended up with Peaches the Cat. The original owner said they never could break her of "feeding the dogs". She was always "finding" food for their two dogs. All of her life, she was just crazy about dogs but never cared much for other cats.
"Many times I've looked in on him and found him sound asleep with a pot holder on his chest."
Aha! I wondered if another potholder story would show up. Once had a Siamese boy named Edgar who was mad for them but ONLY at dinner time. He liked to flip them in the air over his head and catch them on their descent. Usually with one paw. He also liked to jump to the top of a high cabinet, shake the silly potholder senseless, and then hurl it to the floor. We called it "the dinner show," because it never failed to amuse us or anyone else who happened to be around.
As a sideline he also ran a potholder relocation program. There was absolutely no telling where he might park a potholder. He once put one in the suitcase of a house guest. Never did figure out whether he was giving it to her as a gift or was hoping she'd take him home with her. Hard to say.
All the best to your son! It's dear that Blueberry helped take such good care of him.
"I do a lot of gardening but I don't use gloves."
Maybe that is why he is bringing her gloves.
Now that I think of it, all my cat ever drags home are mice and a chip monk or two. How he does it is a mystery because he is declawed (came that way from the SPCA).
When my mother was going through chemo-therapy for cancer (she had a pump, and did it at home) it really took "it" out of her. She would just stay in a recliner for a few hours while taking her chemo. When "Joshua David" this big, tough, orange tabby tom cat saw this, he'd rush over to her, jump into her lap, then lay across her chest, with one paw on either side of her neck, and nuzzle her under her chin. And he'd just stay there for hours, hugging her, while she had her chemo.
When she died, he pined, and was never the same. He lost his "mommy" that day.

Nope, nobody likes Sock Patrol (which always prompts much finger-pointing as to whose idea it was to keep him in the first place) but he's a very entertaining cat and it amuses him so it's a small price to pay. :)
Glad to hear you (and many others on this thread) have cats with sock fetishes, too. lol I really thought mine was the only one and am happy to hear I'm not alone. At least now I can stop blaming the dog for screwing him up. :D
Cats are great. TheBob (my cat)is the best drinking buddy I've ever had.
