What surprises me is how quick some FReepers have jumped onto this to try to bring down the Minuteman Project, Alan Keyes, the Declaration Foundation, and anyone else peripherally involved and they're using leftist words, tools, and sources in their destructive effort.

Why does it suprise you Spiff? None of the people jumping on the "Let's Get Simcox" bandwagon are conservatives. They don't act like conservatives, they don't post like conservatives, they don't espouse conservative values, and they seem to rip anyone who does.

Now if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, violates the forum rules like a duck, then in all probability it is a duck.

So once and for all just realize that the people who are attacking the MM are liberals. Just look where they get their information. It's a laundry list of the usual suspects from the legacy drive by media right on down to Morris Dees, the ACLU, and MoveOn.org.

They haven't a shred of evidence of criminal activity, just some inexplicable personal animus against this Ms. Hair person and Chris Simcox.

It would be extremely interesting if one of the attorneys in the employ or Mr. Simcox were to take advantage of some recent Court rulings regarding slander and libel posted by people who think they're anonymous on the internet.

It's also interesting that even the founder of this forum who supports Tom Tancredo never seems to get any crap tossed his way. My guess is that this is due to a distinct lack of testicular function on the part of some of these posters. I mean they feel free to respond negatively to our postings of support for Congressman Tancredo but they never seem to do the same when our benevolent sponsor does so.

Why do you suppose that would be, Spiff?

If failing to keep one's word, slavery reparations, grifting, dissembling and lying are now conservative values, count me out. I don't want to be one of those kinds of conservatives. I guess y'all like Duke Cunningham a lot, though.

I'm not ashamed to say that I've been totally devoid of testicular function for my entire life.

I suspect that some of you "tough guy" posters have as well. Maybe that's why you need all the threats & name-calling you use.

By the way, Mr. Tough Guy, if you ask the lawyers, they'll tell you it's not slander if it's written, and it's not libel if it's true.

So I have some questions...

Do you believe that threatening people with lawsuits over the fact that they are speaking their minds on a subject is a conservative trait?

Is independent thinking a conservative trait, or should conservatives simply be single minded robots following some pre-determined set of "rules" put in place by others who know better?

Are you that individual who knows better and gets to tell me what I need to think in order to fit in to the collective?

"They haven't a shred of evidence of criminal activity"

Evidence?

Most liberals deny obvious crimes when evidence is lacking, but in spite of the lack of evidence, we know that the appearance of impropriety usually exists because of the presence of it, not as a result of its absence.

In this case there is the appearance of impropriety.

"Now if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck..."

Exactly.

True enough. There seems to be a lot more of them nowadays as well. There are the usual suspects that have been around a while (why they haven't started their own ping list, I'll never know ). But there seems to be a growing number that sound more like a Chafee, Specter, or DeWine rather than those wanting to rein in government and support conservative issues. I'm seeing a lot of the innuendo-to-cast-evil-intent on these Minuteman threads similar to what one sees in the MSM.

That said, this Minuteman fandango does cause one to raise his/her eyebrows. I think an honest investigation is necessary. From reading on this funding bit, I get the impression that there is mismanagement going on, rather than something criminal. We'll see how it falls out.
