The Minuteman Civil Defense Corps calls itself a "project of the Declaration Alliance," although few MCDC volunteers know what the alliance does or why Minuteman donations are routed through the charity founded and headed by conservative activist Alan Keyes.
Several Minuteman leaders and members questioned the wisdom of ceding control over fundraising to the Herndon-based Declaration Alliance, part of an intricate weave of conservative organizations founded and chaired by Mr. Keyes or tied to longtime Keyes associates working with MCDC.
MCDC President Chris Simcox told The Washington Times that the alliance offers "an experienced organization for mass mailings, advertising and public relations" and the ability to conduct a "fully accredited and independent audit" of MCDC finances.
Mr. Simcox said he "checked these people out very carefully before agreeing to work with them" and that he made the "correct decision" in hiring "clean professional consultants, accountants and media professionals." He did not, however, disclose during an interview last week or in a 3,961-word follow-up statement how much Declaration Alliance and its affiliated organizations have been paid for their services
During the interview, he said, "Not one cent of MCDC money has been spent on alliance projects." The statement, released on the MCDC Web page, www.minutemanhq.com/hq/, does not mention Declaration Alliance or Mr. Keyes. ...."
"..Diener Consultants first contacted the Minuteman organization in early 2005, said Ms. Hair, the MCDC spokeswoman who also was a top adviser to Mr. Keyes in his presidential and senatorial races. She said she called Mr. Simcox after the Minuteman group was created to ask whether he had a media plan. After being told no, she said, she met with Mr. Simcox and Minuteman co-founder James Gilchrist in Washington and signed an agreement...."

Now, we are old hands at this now. We see that 90 percent of that is being paid is to business's owned by Greene and Friends. This is just another Declaration alliance type situation we examined on a earlier thread
Oh and just to clarify SCIM inc
http://www.sicm.com/
That recieved about 17,000 dollars from Mr Greene Pac is owned by MR Greene himself. God Bless America What a Country. Driener I believe is also owned by SICM.
Wonder if he's related to Marlo & Mary Parker Lewis?
Hmm Thats curious. If act that was there biggest donation too. I wonder why that is?
Ahh never mind ev was in active in the 2002 wv race not this one that I can tell
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm....that's a red flag, if ever there was one.

I am curious about these expenditures and the expenditures to that were actually of canidates seem to be so haphazad. There seems to be no rhyme or reason why they are going to particular people(canidates). For instance why was 2000 dollars snet to the Lewis campaign who was going to have a upohill battle anyway and not to other people that have much closer races/ I dont understand it myself

What a scam!

Its worse look at post 181 and it is show more clearly and this is just one organization of of this empire that basically is partners with the Keyes folks. They ahve numerous pacs and lobbies. We need a Conservatie/Republican better business Bureau to help us when when we are asked to donate
True enough. There seems to be a lot more of them nowadays as well. There are the usual suspects that have been around a while (why they haven't started their own ping list, I'll never know ). But there seems to be a growing number that sound more like a Chafee, Specter, or DeWine rather than those wanting to rein in government and support conservative issues. I'm seeing a lot of the innuendo-to-cast-evil-intent on these Minuteman threads similar to what one sees in the MSM.
That said, this Minuteman fandango does cause one to raise his/her eyebrows. I think an honest investigation is necessary. From reading on this funding bit, I get the impression that there is mismanagement going on, rather than something criminal. We'll see how it falls out.
We need a chart, just to keep all of the tentacles of this octopus straight. This IS a mess.
I have to admit it is something. I am afraid this is such a tiny part. It shows why this fence is such a gold mine. First the mailing list is worth a bundle alone. But the assorted companies receive this money from promoting the fence(out of doantions) and thus get to put it into the many many many other operations that also make a buck.
And those who excuse it, because "it's for a good cause", or whatever, should be ashamed of themselves. A scam is a scam, no matter WHO is pulling it off. Heck, we all were glad that Cunningham got his just deserts. Conservatives aren't supposed to condone such things, when done by "our" side.
Seriously, we all really do need a chart for these companies. It is getting more than a little confusing, as to who belongs/funds what, now.
MCDC is operating under the Declaration Alliance so that they
can claim they are tax exempt because the Declaration Alliance
501(c)(4) not-for-profit, tax exempt organization and MCDC is not.
They won't be seeing 55mil anytime soon.
So true So true. I have feas though the true extent of the fraud here and how it manupliates conservative media etc will not be fully uncovered. Like I was telling Amelia. This is much like the 9 to 5 movies when Dolly Parton and Jane Fonda had Mr BUrns(the boss locked up) however he was ables to replace all the stuff he stole to the missing warehouse before the Audit happened even though it cost him a lot of money.
I expect there is some creative accounting going on.
