Most sources indicate that the size of the IRGC training and liaison forces with Hezbollah dropped in recent years, as the Hezbollah cut back on its time cadres to levels of about 500-600 full time fighters, although estimates put the number at anywhere from 300 to 1,200. There are at least several thousand "reserves," but most have little real training and experience.

So this thing is saying Israel is fighting a couple of thousand ill trained Hezbollah thugs? Or am I reading it wrong?

That's what he said. "Several" thousand would be less than 10K, so less than a division, active and reserve.

Figure you'd want between 3:1 up to 7:1 advantage against an enemy dug in in rugged terrain, and IDF's three divisions in the area, and you see logic in Israel's limited call-up.

Nastywaller promised "surprises", I don't get the feeling IDF's walking in, or raping and pillaging with ease, these numbers may be a bit on the low side. If not, the training assessments are.

Or perhaps...the shooters on the other side aren't all Hezb.
