I think for some of us it is entertainment with news thrown in. We love to see the antics of the reporters, the stupidity of some of their remarks, and it gives us a chuckle just when the world seems to be on shaky ground.

I'll take Seinfeld's "soup nazi" over reporter antics anyday. Got Haaretz' ticker up here, this thread, an off-toipc backpacking site, and one browser open for whatever pops up and needs a look, with Elaine Benice telling the head of NBC she doesn't like TV, on the TV next to me.

Actually, one of the things that I like about watching the news...especially while on here...is that most of us are watching the same thing...so we can debate and exchange opinions of the same "event.
If we all had different sites...we wouldn't have the visual in common.
Plus, you guys wouldn't have all of the cute newsbabes to drool over.
